Insight Human Services has always been dedicated to making communities safer, and in 2011 we became part of an exciting opportunity to do just that with the Justice Reinvestment Act. This legislation allows for more effective sentencing and supervision of criminal offenders.
Recidivism Reduction Services (RRS) is an Insight program that works with high risk offenders in need of cognitive behavioral intervention and/or substance abuse treatment.
Participants receive therapy that promotes positive self-image and identity, helps teach proper social behaviors, and encourages decisions made from a higher level of moral judgment. RRS instills goals, motivation, and values.
The ultimate goal is a reduction in the likelihood that participants will return to the criminal justice system.
Since 2011, the Justice Reinvestment Act and programs like RRS have reduced probation revocations by half, reduced returns to prison by 14% and reinvested $8 million back into community resources.
RRS service offerings include:
- Substance Abuse Treatment
- Cognitive Behavioral Intervention
- Educational Assistance
- Employment Services
Potential participants must meet the following criteria:
- High-risk offender (designated level 1-3)
- N.C. General Statue 90.96 offender
- Post-release offender
